ABOUT SLOAN & FINN
ANIMAL RESCUE.

We’re Haley and Brian, the founders of Sloan & Finn Animal Rescue, launched in January 2025 with a shared commitment to saving and supporting dogs in need. With years of hands-on rescue experience, we’ve built our lives around fostering, rehabilitation, and finding safe, loving homes for animals across the Carolinas.

Our home is shared with four rescue dogs, including two foster “fails” who never left our hearts. Rescue is deeply personal to us, and it shapes everything we do. At Sloan & Finn, every dog matters and every adoption or foster placement is intentional. When you foster or adopt with us, you become part of a community that treats every animal like family.

HOW WE STARTED.

Sloan & Finn Animal Rescue was born from years of hands-on rescue work and a shared commitment to saving dogs in need. It all started in Charlotte, NC, where Haley’s early adoptions of Rocky Finn and Aspyn Sloan led her into fostering in 2019 and discovering a deep passion for animal rescue.

After moving to Charleston, SC in 2021, Haley continued fostering and rescue work while partnering with Brian, who quickly became an integral part of the journey. Together, they opened their home to countless foster dogs, including Mack, later adopted by Brian, and Trout, one of their foster “fails,” deepening their understanding of long-term rescue commitment.

As their experience grew, so did their vision for doing more. What began as fostering and local rescue involvement evolved into the foundation for Sloan & Finn Animal Rescue in January 2025, a foster-based rescue built to save dogs, support fosters, and create lasting, meaningful matches across the Carolinas.

OUR VALUES.

Spay and Neuter

Spaying and neutering are essential components of responsible pet ownership that significantly contribute to reducing pet overpopulation. Every year, millions of animals enter shelters, many of which are ultimately euthanized due to a lack of homes. By spaying or neutering your pet, you help prevent unwanted litters and decrease the number of animals in shelters. Additionally, these procedures can lead to healthier pets, reducing the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues. It’s a proactive step that not only benefits individual pets but also helps create a more humane community.

Training Resources

Investing in training for your pet is crucial for fostering good behavior and enhancing the bond between you and your furry friend. Proper training helps prevent common behavioral issues, such as aggression, anxiety, and destructive habits. It also ensures that your pet is well-socialized, making them a joy to be around in various situations. Access to training resources equips pet owners with the knowledge and skills needed to guide their pets effectively, leading to happier, well-adjusted animals. Ultimately, training is not just about obedience; it's about enriching the lives of pets and their owners and creating a harmonious home environment. We are proud rescue partners of Impawssible Pups and each of our fosters gets evaluated and 1v1 training!

Responsible Pet Ownership

Being a responsible pet owner means providing a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for your animal. This includes regular veterinary care, proper nutrition, socialization, and training. Responsible ownership helps ensure the well-being of pets and fosters a positive relationship between pets and their owners. It also reduces the likelihood of pets being abandoned or surrendered to shelters. By promoting responsible pet ownership, we can cultivate a community that values and respects the lives of animals, leading to a more compassionate and caring society.

Helping Community Dogs

We love our community, and we are here to help in any way that we can. We recognize that sometimes even the most responsible pet owners can face challenges. If you have a dog who is going through a tough time—whether due to financial hardship, health issues, or other circumstances—we’re here to help. Our mission goes beyond the shelters, it includes supporting community dogs in need, providing temporary assistance and education to ensure they remain in loving homes. If you or someone you know could benefit from our support, please reach out to us. We’re happy to discuss how we can help and work together to make a difference in the lives of these beloved pets. Dogs in the shelter are not the only dogs in need, please do not hesitate to as for help!

By prioritizing spaying and neutering, responsible pet ownership, training, and community support, we can work together to improve the lives of animals in our community and create a brighter future for all pets.
