Need To Rehome Your Pet?

We're sorry you're facing this difficult decision. We know that rehoming a beloved pet is never easy, and whenever possible, our goal is to help pets remain with their families. However, we understand that life circumstances can change, and sometimes rehoming becomes the best option for both the pet and the family.

While Sloan and Finn Animal Rescue is unable to accept every owner surrender request, we are committed to helping pets find safe, loving homes whenever we can. We've partnered with Adopt-a-Pet to provide a secure and responsible way to rehome your pet directly to a new family.

Please click the link below to get started. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out, we're happy to help guide you through the process and can also share your pet on our social media channels to help increase visibility and find the right match.

Thank you for taking the time to ensure your pet's next chapter is a safe and loving one.

Common Questions

Do you take in stray dogs?

No. If you've found a stray dog, please contact your local animal control or shelter. They are best equipped to scan for a microchip, locate the owner, and follow local stray hold laws.

Do you accept owner surrenders?

Sometimes. We accept owner surrenders on a limited, case-by-case basis depending on foster availability, the dog's needs, and our current capacity. Please email us with details to discuss your situation.

Do you offer assistance for pet owners in need?

Yes! Through our Sloan & Finn Community Care Fund, we may be able to provide resources such as pet food, supplies, or referrals to help keep pets with the families who love them. Contact us to learn more.

I need help with my pet's behavior or training. Can you help?

Absolutely. We're happy to share training resources, behavior tips, and referrals to trusted trainers. Many behavior challenges can be improved with the right support, and we're here to help point you in the right direction.

What should I do if I find a stray dog?

First, check for ID tags and have the dog scanned for a microchip at a local vet. Report the find to your local municipal animal control and share photos on community social media groups like Nextdoor and Facebook Lost & Found.
