ANUBIS
Anubis is a 2–3-year-old Plott Hound mix who was pulled from Animal Care & Control just in time, with his euthanasia deadline quickly approaching. This scared boy has a huge heart, and since coming into rescue, he’s been working hard to learn that the world can be a safe place.
Anubis is a sweet, sensitive dog who needs someone willing to give him the time and patience he deserves. He can be fearful and lacks confidence, which means he does have a bite risk when he feels scared or overwhelmed. Because of this, we are looking for an experienced adopter who understands fearful dogs and is committed to continuing his training and building his confidence.
The good news? Anubis is making incredible progress every single day. As he gets more comfortable and learns to trust, his sweet personality shines through. Once Anubis trusts you, he is truly the sweetest boy and will happily show you just how much love he has to give.
Anubis is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. He is dog friendly with the right introductions and does best when given time to properly meet and feel comfortable with another dog. His cat compatibility is currently unknown.
Anubis needs a patient, experienced adopter who will allow him to decompress, respect his boundaries, and continue helping him build confidence. He may need a little more time than some dogs, but we promise he is worth it.
Anubis is currently located in the Charlotte area and is looking for someone who will give him the chance he almost never got.
